Practically, this program aims to develop experience educators and individuals who are invested in bringing about positive and impactful changes to their organization and educational sphere.

The EdD (Doctorate of Education) is a professional doctoral degree program that is ideal for experienced educators and intermediate- to senior-level professionals who want to lead and implement change in their organizations. EdD candidates work in a variety of fields, from K-12 and higher education to nonprofit, government, healthcare, and the military. These practitioners share the common desire and goals of transforming their day-to-day environment and applying the insights they gain through their doctoral program to the complex and critical issues facing the workplace. EdD is a practice-oriented program, with a focus on both qualitative and exploratory research, where students are motivated to not only research an area of interest but also employ that research in ways that can positively impact the decision-making processes of their communities and organizations.

If you are a university professor, school leader, or professional interested in becoming an applied education researcher, a doctorate in Education is for you. An EdD may be the preferred credential for many mid-career employees who already have a master's degree but wish to pursue doctoral-level research. A doctorate in Education is research-based in addition to application to professional practice.

    • A single-subject study that evaluates a new or innovative intervention, business venture, etc.
    • In-depth research on a single subject study to generate a novel intervention, technical answers, etc.
